Current Research Summary:
Shear tab connection is a cost effective and simple approach to connect a simple beam to their supporting members.
The current design procedure for shear tab connection is based on the researches mostly focus on the behavior of beam-to-column
shear tab connections subjected to gravitational shear load. This research aims to develop recommendations for design of beam
to girder shear tab connection, where either an extended shear tab or cope beam shear tab is used, under combined shear
and axial forces. Full scale test and finite element analyses of shear tab connection will be carried out to develop these
recommendations.
